It may give since the Robot indexing your website reads your source code and hence finds the link to your medium page. The solution at least from Retainable.io work in the way that it loads the medium articles to you page with javascript and that's why I'm not sure how much it will affect to you SEO rating. At least for me it didn't make too much difference
